The 2017 Puerto Rico Mathematics Assessment contained the same blocks of operational mathematics items given to students in the United States at each grade, as well as four additional KaSA (Knowledge and Skills Appropriate) blocks that were also given to students selected for the KaSA study in the United States. These KaSA blocks allow for more precise measurement of student mathematics performance in Puerto Rico.
