The target population for the 2005 Twelfth-Grade Public School National Assessment included all students who were enrolled in twelfth-grade public schools in the 50 states or the District of Columbia. The sample included Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) schools and domestic Department of Defense Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary (DDESS) schools.
