Upon completion of all assessment sessions, field staff calculate the total session attendance rate to determine whether a make-up session must be scheduled. A make-up session is required when the total session attendance rate is below 90 percent. Field staff schedule a make-up session with the School Coordinator prior to departing the school.
Field staff calculate the total session attendance rate using the following formula:
Add the number of students originally sampled plus any sampled newly identified students to obtain the total number of students sampled.
Subtract the number of students who are withdrawn, ineligible, or excluded to obtain the number of eligible students.
Add the number of students who refused to participate or whose parents refused to permit them to participate to obtain the total number of refusals.
Subtract the refusals from the number of eligible students to determine the number of students to be assessed.
Divide the number of students assessed by the number to be assessed. If the quotient is below 90 percent, a make-up session is required.
