Creation of the Database Database Quality Control: Prior to 2013 Database Quality Control: 2013 to 2018 NAEP Database Products

Each NAEP assessment results in the generation of computer files containing NAEP assessment data for students (assessed and excluded), as well as NAEP questionnaire data from:

• student survey questionnaires;
  
• teacher questionnaires;
  
• school questionnaires;
  
• students with disabilities (SD) questionnaires; and
  
• English learners (EL) questionnaires. 

Before the analysis of NAEP assessment data can be performed, the data must be integrated into a coherent and comprehensive database.

The NAEP database contains responses that relate to or describe individuals or individual characteristics (in addition to responses to cognitive test items). All such information in the database may be used only for statistical purposes and may not be disclosed or used in identifiable form for any other purpose.
