NAEP Technical DocumentationTarget Sample Sizes for Public Schools in the 2002 National Main Assessment

The following table lists the target sample sizes for the 2002 national main fourth- and eighth-grade public school samples, including adjustments for school response and inclusion rate and the reduction of California and Texas sample sizes. The target sample size for each sampled school is 60, as it is for the state assessment fourth- and eighth-grade samples (see 2002 State Assessment Sample Design ).
