The target populations for the 2009 public school science hands-on tasks (HOT) and interactive computer tests (ICT) assessment included all students who were enrolled in fourth, eighth, and twelfth grades, respectively, in public schools, Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) schools and Department of Defense Education Activity Schools (DoDEA) in the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
