Poststratification is described in Poststratification of Student Weights. This page presents the corresponding replicate factors and weights. The poststratification factors for each poststratification cell h for the reading assessment and writing assessment students respectively are:
where
Ah is the control total for cell h (see Poststratification Control Totals);
Ah(re) is the set of assessed reading students in cell h;
Ah(ex) is the set of excluded students in cell h;
Ah(wr) is the set of assessed writing students in cell h;
SUBJADJsk is the adjustment for subject selection for school s, student k (see Poststratification of Student Weights);
STUWGTsk(r) is the replicated student base weight for student sk, replicate weight r (see Replicate Student Base Weights);
STNRADJd(r) is the replicate student nonresponse adjustment for student nonresponse cell d, replicate weight r (see Replicate Student Nonresponse Adjustments); and
TRIMsk is the student trimming factor for student sk (see Student Trimming Factors).
The final replicate student weights Wsk(r) are equal to the following for operational reading assessment and operational writing assessment students, respectively:
For excluded students, the final weights are different depending on whether the record for the excluded student is on the operational reading assessment file or on the operational writing assessment file. The excluded student weights can be written as:
where the "o" superscript for PSFAC is equal to "re" for the reading assessment file and equal to "wr" for the writing assessment file.
