NAEP Technical DocumentationSchool and Student Participation in the 2005 National Private School Assessment

The tables linked below present response rates for the NAEP 2005 private school samples for fourth, eighth, and twelfth grades in the reading and mathematics operational study, the science bridge study, and the science operational study. Response rates differ by study types as some schools were sampled to be in all studies, whereas other schools were only sampled to be in one or two of the studies.  The tables present a breakdown by private school type, as response rates varied considerably across private school types.

Counts of nonresponding and responding sampled schools, science bridge study

The tables linked below present the overall weighted student response rates and exclusion rates for the reading and mathematics operational study, the science bridge study, and the science operational study, separately by private school type, for the private school samples in fourth, eighth, and twelfth grades. Excluded students were identified as they were in the grades 4 and 8 state assessments. Response rates are not reported for the pilot study, because high response rates were not of critical importance for that study.
