School response rates varied substantially between the science bridge and pilot studies, and the science operational studies. The tables linked below show the response rates for each assessment. The table for the science bridge and pilot studies shows response rates before and after substitution. While substitutes were selected for the science operational assessment, none were utilized. The table for the science operational assessment includes the results of the state sample.

The table linked below shows student response rates for the science bridge and science operational studies. Note that the response rates are not shown for the pilot study, given the specialized role of the pilot study. A student's response status was determined as defined in the NAEP State assessment.
